Why is my fee for October $71.73 when it should be $50.00? It's my first bill.

I have a $55.00 plan but got a coupon type deal for $5.00 off... Why did I just get a text from Koodo telling me that the next bill (my first bill) if payed on time would be $71.73???
I have used data in different places but my "data-roaming" is off in settings, so I really don't get it.

Because you get charged for the time that you get phone to the end of the cycle plus your regular charge for the month. For example, a 55$ a month plan would come down to about 1.84$ a day. If you had the phone for 7 days before the end of the cycle it comes up to 12.88$ plus the 55$ for the next month, brings me to 67.88$ plus taxes. It's called proration. You can download a PDF of your bill from self serve and look at the cost breakdown on page 1 or 3.

I was searching for "Proration" which might be why Google didn't come back with anything.... :P
