Hi Karen,

That depends on your email provider! Some email accounts (cogeco, bell, etc) basically download all available messages to your email application so if you use multiple devices, it will appear on all your devices. If you use a provider like Gmail, it is all synchronized with their server to remember where you filed your messages.

This happen to me very often when I receive mails on Hotmail. Although the system is set up to cancel the mails from the server, once the mails are downloaded, and despite these mails are cancelled on all my devices, the same mails may come back sometimes immediately and sometimes a day later. So far I did not find a solution to this problem.
With Gmail I have a different problem. Some mails, randomly, do not disappear when I cancel them. I have not yet understood what is the pattern although the more "sticky" mails are the ones coming from ... Government.

The sticky emails s seem to happen if you have the app set to group email into conversations. If there are any portions of the email chain that the app consists to have not been read it keeps making them as new emails. I fixed it on my phone by turning off the conversation option.

I already turned off the conversation option but it did not solve the problem
