Why does the base price for a new phone increase the amount of tab credit I have? Shouldn't that be applied to decrease the cost?Wh

Tab math:
The LG5 is advertised as $0, with a $301 tab to be put on your account. The retail price on the Koodoo website is $596. I have $108 in credit on my tab. When I go to check out, it increases the base price to over $700 - the amount of credit on my tab, so that I would still owe the same amount in 'tab' as someone without any credit. WHY?

Not sure where you got your numbers, nej.  The price options Robert posted are the ones I see online this morning.  What may have confused you is that the total amount charged for the phone varies according to the option you select.
Koodo considers the "retail price" to be $704.  But if you select to start a new tab, the price of the phone is less:  You can save $294 if you sign up to pay either a small or medium tab and an associated phone plan.

The best deal for you, since you already have $108 tab credit is to apply your credit to the Tab Small option,  reducing the $170 up front charge  to $62.  Your tab payments will be only $10 per month instead of the $15 per month you would pay with the Tab medium option.

Paying $120 extra upfront for Tab Small is not better than than paying $120 extra over 24 months for Tab Medium. Paying $5 every month for 24 months is basically an interest free loan.

When you have a tab credit and are logged into your self serve account, it will show you the prices of phones with your credit. The LG G5 is $704, minus your $108 credit equals the $596 total you are seeing. If you logout of self serve and view the phone it will show up as $704.
