By calling voicemail do you mean you see your number? You will see your number displayed on the bill and usage summaries if you get a call from an unknown number or something similar.

it shows outgoing call as my number to the voicemail number and I didn't call my voicemail and it's saying the call was 5 seconds long no incoming missed calls show

Not setting up your voicemail login does not prevent people from leaving messages. If you want to do so, setup your voicemail, then choose option 3 to manage your greetings. Then choose 4 for manage extended absence greeting. Record an extended absence greeting and you will be given the option to not accept messages. Activate this and you'll never get a voicemail again.

will this option stop my minutes from being used up? It has been explained to me by Koodo service that if I haven't checked voicemail my minutes should not be used up. I have never checked voicemail and my minutes keep disappearing. At least 10 Koodo reps and techs couldn't explain how that was possible.

Check to see if your booster minutes (on the overview screen of prepaid self-serve) are in fact being depleted. The usage details may show minutes being used when people call your voicemail, but it should not actually be using your minutes at all.

Koodo has informed me that my phone was using an old logarithymn which was depleting my minutes even though I wasn't checking my voicemail. They informed me my phone/plan has been updated and the issue is resolved. I hope that is the case. Time will tell.

Does this sound like a valid reason to you?

Thank you for your response.

Logarithm? No. Algorithm? Quite possibly.
