Why do you think this is happening? It shouldn't if you are connected to a WiFi network. Are you sure you are?

Can you tell us which Android phone you have?

Android version?

Have you turned off Adaptive Wi-Fi or Download Booster? This feature can switch over to mobile data when a drop in Wi-Fi signal is detected by the phone. In some cases, the feature is turned on by default from the factory. The settings for Adaptive Wi-Fi (as it's called in Android 8) is usually found in Settings > Wi-Fi > Advanced Settings - paths and/or names may differ depending on the device and Android version.
