Why does my phone have so much trouble connecting for calls in and out?

My wife and I recently got Galaxy S4 phones through Koodo, we previously used Virgin. We never had any issue with call service with Virgin, now with Koodo we continuously have problems with connecting when calling out or receiving calls.

My wife just had to try 5 times to get phone to call out. A number of times person pickups up on other end it's just silence and this occurs frequently when receiving calls. This is not acceptable service in my eyes, I receive any number of important calls and not connecting and having to wait for return calls or calling back person is rediculous for a provider that has been around as long as Koodo has been.

What is causing this, is it Koodo network issue? Note this is with both our phones.

Are you in the city? Does this happen only when you are home or even when you are out and about? Koodo's network is very decent, they run of telus' so I'm thinking it something to donwitj your phones, the way it's set up possibly.

Make sure you visit the Koodo coverage website and see if your area is covered:)

Koodo does run on Telus networks so it does not have wide bands like other carriers like Rogers.
If you are continuously having problemos, try giving CS a call and a Rep will be happy to assist you:)

We are in North Bay. I have never before had such issue with a cell phone. It is worse during the day. I can't just keep calling and calling until I make it through correctly.
It sits there saying dialing in silence then may switch to call timing but still nothing. A number of times a person has picked up on other end to total silence. As well this silence happens on incoming calls and I believe I've even missed a couple calls as had a couple times it showed miss call or had a message left even. This is all with no less then 3 bars of tower and even at full signal. This is ridiculous. I'd say phone issue but 2 phones the same? Continues and I'll be filing a complaint about service.

Could it have something to do with the phone's themselves?
I am not so sure because I cannot check the status of your phone's hardware, however, like I have mentioned above, giving CS a call is the most efficient thing you can do currently:)

Hi Jollygrn, have you tried taking your battery out for about 30 seconds and reinserting it? Sometimes this can fix weird issues such as this.
I have the same problem, not only with sending and receiving calls(not connecting), the issue of people not hearing me though I can hear them, and also, texts not sending, or taking a very long time to send.  I live in HRM, Nova Scotia, was with Virgin also before Koodo, and never had these issues.

Hi Lynn! Have you done a power cycle (on/off) and tried resetting your Network settings?
