The phone is $870 from Samsung but $874 from Koodo.
Don't they get a volume discount?

Because they're a different company and can charge what they want?

Hello James.

I don't think 4$ will make a difference will it? Maybe it's to pay for the shipping fees? Who knows.

+$4 doesn't make a difference but I find it curious the manufacturer can sell it for less despite Koodo getting a volume discount.

D'ya think the manufacturer might also get a volume discount?

While I don't know about the Galaxy phone, it was widely reported that Google's wholesale price to carriers for Nexus devices was the same as they retailed it on the Google Store. Carriers had to mark it up considerably above Google's retail price to recover their costs. Not saying the same is happening here, just that we have no idea the input costs to Koodo vs Samsung.

I would assume it has to do with simplifying the upfront cost amount for people, as the tab large gives you $504 off upfront so they can advertise it for $370 (compared to $366).
