Can anyone tell me why the plan for unlimited minutes, text and 5 gb of data is 94.00 in Alberta and BC and Sask and Manitoba same plan is 55.00. I have 3 phones on Koodo and am getting ripped just because I am an Alberta resident. Very bad.

Change your phone number to a Quebec area code and save even more...????

Rates are subject to competition forces. Click on the "region" tab at the bottom of the Koodo page. You can check/compare the different plans that only work in that area.

God bless Videotron competing in Quebec. Fourth carrier in any area makes a difference.

Competition.

MTS and Sasktel.

Now if Wind ever amounts to anything, maybe we can have that here too

Oh really? I'm from Winnipeg and living in Edmonton. My sister got unlimited data for $60 on a student plan. And then that plan was free since she had cable, internet and phone.

As George Orwell stated, all animals are equal, except that some are more equal than others.

Would have been interesting to see what kind of cell service plans would have worked in that environment.

This is what reps are being told to say to customers. But in reality, it's due to the competition from MTS & SaskTel. Also Videotron in QC, and Tbaytel in Thunder Bay.

For a long time this was also part of it. Telus/Koodo were up against companies like MTS, who wouldn't let them on their network, and offered strong plans. So Telus and Koodo had to do the same in order to compete at any level. Now coverage hasn't really been a big issue in Saskatchewan, but in Manitoba it has been. Although Im not sure what will happen with the new extended coverage maps.

Like many things in life, being more desirable equates to higher value. Since it is much more desirable to live in BC or AB compared to SK or MB, everything from food to cell phone bills costs more.
