Why are you billing me when you rejected my application for your service in the first place?

I live in Malaysia. My daughter goes to school in Canada. We tried to get her phone service with your company but after taking all my details (including credit card) you rejected my application as I am a foreigner. Yet several months later, we find you have a collection agency trying to charge us nearly Can$500 for the service you refused to provide us in the first place. When I tried calling you, your call centre said to wait for 20 minutes. I am calling from Malaysia, so no thank you. Your online forms don't seem to allow any real communication so I'm trying every way to get you to contact me and explain what the heck you are doing?

hi Robert,

How do you know it was a legit collection agency? Did they even give you any bill at all?

There should be always an agreement (that you need to sign) before anyone can legally charge you. If you (or your daughter) didn't sign anything with Koodo, there could be scam. I would be careful about it.

Which number were you calling to? how did you know the number?

I sent you a copy of the bill. I also called them. A rather terse young lady offered to reduce the cost if I agreed to pay right away. None the less, they seem to be your agents. The Koodoo number is 33292926

Well, I am not a Koodo agent, I am a Koodo customer.

Koodo main number is 1 (866) 995-6636. I think if they didn't give you any bills, or anything proof of proper billing, they could be a scam, and not from Koodo. Scams are getting sophisticated these days, be careful.

You should not pay anything until you see a contract and a bill from Koodo (not from a collection agency). Did you also check with your daughter, and asked her if she signed anything with Koodo?

No, she didn't sign anything. We tried to get their service but they rejected us because I have a foreign credit card. The agency sent a bill, they are legit. Koodoo number keeps on hold...with a warning of a minimum of a 20 min wait. I'm calling from Malaysia so that's no good. I need to speak with an actual person at their customer service

The forum here is mainly for customer exchanging information. Koodo agents do pass by sometimes. How can a bill be legit if you didn't do anything?

Can you post a snapshot of the document they sent you here. (delete personal information from it please). IF you need to contact Koodo directly, you could call 1 (866) 995-6636 or send messages to their facebook/twitter https://www.facebook.com/Koodo/

In your case, I would suggest you pay nothing for now. Until someone from Koodo can present a proper bill and charges, you should not do anything. There were a lot of cases pretending Koodo. You could pay someone and Koodo takes the blame.

@ Robert, we do have an agreement, signed September 1st, 2017 at the Koodo store in Regina, Saskatchewan with your daughter's name on it. Because this is a public forum there is not much more we can disclose. However, pls reach out via Facebook so we can secure the conversation and look into what happened.
