If you got a new phone then chances are that the data used was probably apps updating automatically in the background or the operating system updating. Make sure to disable auto updating of apps from within the settings of your respective app store.

What kind of phone do you have?

Despite the misleading advertising, phones are not meant to watch your latest instalment of Downton Abbey.

You can get a widget (Data Enabler) that turns mobile network data on or off without affecting WiFi.

If there is no reason for you to feel pestered by mobile data (on the road, in a church or whatever), you just press the button, then turn it on whenever you need it.

Already have the widget if you read what I posted

Toggling between APN's is not the same as just switching mobile data or or off. Bad APN file is a good way to get yourself cut off from services selectively, or forced onto another network (roaming $$$??). Please let us know how this is resolved once you contact Koodo.

I would like to add more data, koodo. I want you to do something about the fact I couldn't text or call my mom for a year and 3 months and I want you to do something to fix this outrageous bill

Hi there, since we can't access accounts from here, the best is to call us directly. We can be reached at *611 from your cell or 1-866-995-6636 from another phone. Select #6 and you'll be transferred to our technical support (we'll have a look into this problem reaching your mother). Concerning the data, you can see all our plans on this link: http://koo.do/qqOCIX. Remember that you can change your plan online easily via Self Serve :) Thank you!

Did you call Koodo?

" I'm still being billed for the Internet I did use and my phone didn't use..."
- And did you use data or not?

"I'm not paying for that"
- If you just ignore your bill, it will go to correction agency eventually. And you will have trouble with your credit score/history.
So call Koodo as Yannick suggested and talk to their rep.

I know it frustrating but I would call Koodo again from another phone, so you can go through a phone setting with them. I know you have the widget and have an apn setting... but to make sure. (Option 6 for tech support.)
They also need to fix your phone to call/text your mother.
