Why am I billed for the NEXT 31 days on my POSTPAID account?

Isn't the idea of postpaid all about paying after? Isn't this why they do a credit check? So what's the point in doing all of this and then putting "Monthly and other charges (Apr 18 to May 17)" on my today's bill?

You pay for the overages charges from the past month and one month in advance.
I mean, either way you're paying your plan price + overages from the past month. Just its dated for the next month instead of the last.

Postpaid you regularly pay for the month ahead and any extra charges for the previous. It's just how it works. You can either pay for the month after it ens or whichever but after the firstonth of service you're paying regularly each month.

The idea is you pay for the "base" services upfront (17 Apr- 16 May; to be paid before May 10th) while any and all extra usage are paid after use. Exp: you call family abroad bcoz of emergency and you use 1GB extra; you pay those feature after you've used them.
Like Denis stated: "Same for you cable and internet bills"; that the industry norms mate

If there was a way for the industry to know how much your overages were going to be ahead of time, they would probably pre-bill you for that as well.

Ha I'm sure they've thought about it and are trying to figure out a way to implement it without it being illegal.
