I have 100 Canada wide anytime minutes - only used 43 minutes last month and was dinged $5.50 for calls to voicemail. The first charge being on May 26th (old plan) after only using 4 minutes of airtime.

Now on June14th I changed my plan from the $30/month with pay per use data to the $30/month with 100mb shock free data having been forced to a new phone with a Sim card. These plans are identical except for the data so why on earth was my bill prorated to charge all these voicemail airtime minutes when I clearly have minutes left? Why is voicemail being charged period???

Hello slk,

Calling voicemail uses airtime just like a regular call. However, you can retrieve messages free of charge if you call during the free evenings and weekends if it's included in your plan.
If plan change is made mid-cycle, this results in partial charges for minutes. If you exceeded the number of minutes allowed for the number of days you've spent before changing the plan, charges may apply.

Since your plan includes 100 Minutes for 30 days, if you've changed your plan after 15 days, you were allowed to use just 50 Minutes for this period. You can log into your Self Serve to check your invoice by following these steps:

1) Log into your Self Serve (click here: http://koo.do/1OYX5gB)
2) Click on “View my bill”
3) Click on “Download bill (PDF)” then open it on the location where you saved it.

Does calling from another line to check voicemail count towards the minutes?
