“Best” is subjective. It all depends on your personal needs and wants. On paper, then the S8/iPhone 8/LG G6 are probably the “best”.

Again, it depends on what you want in a phone, as well as what you are willing to spend.

Depends on your needs, expectations, and budget. Care to provide more details?

Just noticed you chose the iPhone category. The best iPhone is the yet unreleased iPhone X.

I’m personally loving the iPhone 8 Plus, but my MasterCard is still smoking from the purchase. Oh yes, and iOS 11 is a hot mess.

I tried all sorts of phone and still loving more the iOS platform then Android's but that's a personal opinion!

PS : Why is iOS11 a mess?

A lot of people online and people I know are having battery and app issues after upgrading to iOS 11. Possibly what he's referring to?

It’s still buggy and giving people issues. I’ve had a few bugs pop up on mine, and everyone I know running it that is not on an iPhone 8 says their battery life has tanked since the update(s).

Worse battery life and slower phones = made-up. People see what they want to see. There are always people complaining about battery life with every OS update.
iOS 11 has a lot of bugs, which you can record and prove rather than just saying "my phone's battery life sucks now," and that ridiculous control center Wi-Fi & Bluetooth turn off "feature." Use it for a week and you will probably get more app crashes than you would in iOS 10 in a whole year. This is no longer the Apple & iPhone people loved from Steve Jobs.

I personally hate that turning BT and wifi off only “disconnects” you, and doesn’t actually turn them off. What a stupid “feature”.

My battery life on my iPhone 8 Plus has been amazing. It kills EVERY android phone I have ever owned.....and I have owned a lot of flagships.

Everyone I know who is on an iPhone 7 and older says theirs is much worse since updating to iOS 11 though, so no....it’s not “made up”.

There could be a phone named "best" coming soon. Until then, there is no best phone. It is all depended on taste. There is an "essential" phone, btw

There is! And it’s “essentially” not great. Far better off getting a Pixel.

It’s their own fault for partnering with the worst carrier in the USA, and then charging flagship prices for a device with a turd camera.

@Julie

When you ask "Which is the best phone" it looks like you have some substantial amount of money to spend on the smart phone. Unlike between our network providers there have been a reasonable competition between smart phones makers lately. In fact you can now get really good phone for a fraction of the money that you would pay for any flagship model.

I know it requires time and effort to do some research but you can find some good advices on the internet and here, as well.

That irks me when people drop in and fire off a question, only to ignore the help/answers and never return.

Hi to All,

It is not that we want something in return. Just simple curiosity if it helped.

I think the point I was trying to make... probably too subtly... is that perhaps Julie has enough information by now to make an informed decision. If she needs to know more, I'm sure she will post here.

In the meantime, I suggest we allow her to digest the information she has received so far :)

I think @Sophia is absolutely right. Not everybody is tech savvy or even some of us need occasionally help from community. It takes some time to digest information for some folks. I don't know if @Cory Z talks indirectly about Julie but many folks on this forum do exactly what he said and I hope he relates to most of them.

LOL I didn't mean it that way. I meant only that they return to at least say "I figured it out", or something to that effect. That way people don't keep replying and trying to figure out an issue that may have already been solved.

Basically for closure on the issue. :)

I get what you mean Sophia, but your comment comes off as sarcastic with the "..." at the end, at least to me. :)

I could have read that wrong, I haven't absorbed enough coffee yet today.....
