When will the note 4 get lollipop?

When will the Samsung Note 4 be receiving the lollipop 5.0 update? Once it is available, will it automatically update like an app would, or is there a special process I need to go through to get it? When I was sold the phone a month ago, the associate told me it would either already have the update or automatically download it once I booted up for the first time and I was frustrated to discover this is not the case.

However, I have been waiting for a month now and nothing has happened. I went into the store intending to purchase a nexus specifically for the 5.0 os and was only sold on this device because I was told it would have it and given the other specs combined it would be a greater value for my money.
Thank you in advance for any assistance you may be able to provide.

The Note 4 update is not even being rolled out yet, except in certain countries and sparingly at that.... so I'm sure we will have a bit of a wait till it reaches Canada and then the carriers, in that order. I guess the salesperson was a little premature to promise an update yet :P

You won't have to do anything, the update will come to you over the air when it's ready :D

I've been following it as well as I am eager to get it too. It is rolling out in Europe now, with Asia very soon then it will make it's way to North America. Your phone will tell you when the update is available and then you can either download it directly to your phone or through Kies on your computer. It will be a large update so I would recommend doing it either over WiFi or through Kies on your computer

It's probably another month away or so from past Samsung update experience.
Really though it's not going to change much on the Note 4 as Samsung's TouchWiz UI will cover up nearly everything that's cool looking about the lollipop update that you see on the Nexus devices (aka pure Android) so unless your like me and are excited to get it because it will give better access to your SD card or that it's lockscreen notifications are well implemented finally so there's no need for a 3rd party app to achieve this then really lollipop on the Note 4 and all Samsung devices is nothing to get excited about, you'll barely notice a difference if your looking for a visual change.

If you haven't seen the update yet here's a sneak peek from Samobile.

Keep your hopes up though!
Recent rumors and Asian particular Samsung phones have hinted out that the new update for lollipop 5.0 on Galaxy devices is going to have a "lighter" version of the TouchWiz UI. Which means, less bloatware, less storage hogging, and more actually useful software features. It is still a "rumor" so you never know until the actual OTA, however, keep your fingers crossed because TouchWiz could be a whole lot more "Android" after the update:)

Your confusing the Note 4 with the Galaxy S6, the Note 4 software doesn't have any changes to TouchWiz at all other than optimizationwith the 5.0 Lollipop update which is already shown in the link in my comment above and as you can see nothing has changed visually and we will all get the same software basically just optimized for the Snapdragon processor instead of the Exynos processor. The S6 is said to be lighter and closer to stock Android and everything you've said Eugene.
