I had to revert back to factory version of android on my nexus phone on advise of kodoo because very 5.1 caused issues (dropped calls, power down etc.). 2 months later I keep getting reminders to update to 5.1 because my os is out of date. Does anyone know if the issue was fixed and it is safe to update?

Try it, it says it's 5.1 but it's actually 5.1.1 and many issues have been fixed.

Nexus 4, 5 and 6 devices are still at 5.1.0. You can try the upgrade again, only this time, perform a hard or factory reset right after installation, (you can skip the initial setup phase and go to: Settings > Backup and reset to perform a factory reset). Let us know if you encounter the same problems and for future reference, let us know which Nexus phone you have.
