The older a battery gets the more it can give off "false readings" to how charged it is.
Are you saying thay you charge your phone to 100%, put it to sleep and the next time you turn it on its at 0%?
What kind of phone do you have and how old it?

The battery in your iPhone 5c is at the point where it can no longer hold a charge, which in most cases, indicates that the battery needs to be replaced. In other posts, you've mentioned that the phone is running iOS 9.3.5. Since the 5c cannot be updated, it cannot take advantage of advanced energy-saving technologies that are included with newer Apple updates. Makes perfect sense as to why you're looking to upgrade.
