What's the best way to switch phone providers, and what would I need to do it?

I've been wanting to switch phone providers for a while now, and since my phone's battery is going flat, and I've found a deal I like, I figure now's the time to switch. I'd rather order everything online, but I'm not sure how I can go about switching providers that way, assuming that's even possible. Would I be better off heading out to a Koodo booth somewhere and take care of things that way? If so, would I need anything other then an invoice and agreement documents from my current provider (e.g.: ID)?

I know this might be a dumb question, but I've never done this kind of switch before, so I'm a little unsure of how to tackle this.

Simplest might well be going to a Koodo booth. They can set you up completely. In addition to the info you listed, you might also need your account PIN for your current carrier. You will also need ID, such as Driver's Licence & Credit card. The full list can be found here.

You can order online, and when your phone arrives, set it up and port your current number to Koodo.
