what's better, koodo or fido coverage?

I am looking at getting the Nexus 5 and I know koodo will take me ages to pay off the balance of my phone so fido is the better alternative, but I do not like rogers and have just found out fido and rogers use the same towers. Is the Fido coverage as extensive as I have found the Koodo coverage to be?

Hi Melissa,

With Koodo you will use the tab system which I'm sure you are aware of, but if you get any phone on a tab (regardless of size of tab) you are guaranteed to have your tab cleared in 24 months or less as opposed to paying for years and years like the old system. As far as coverage goes, Koodo runs off of Bell towers which you can get good coverage just about everywhere.

Hope that helps :)

Koodo uses Telus and Bell towers for their cell phone coverage which has approximately 98% of the country. Rogers has about 93-95% which Fido uses for their services.

Thus, Koodo has better coverage than Fido.

Koodo - 1
Fido - 0 (lol)

Stop using 'Tab' plans.
You do realize that's just another name for a loan right?

They are charging outlandish prices for phones, just like all the other providers.
Why do you honestly need a $300-$500 phone?
Really, what could you possibly be doing on a cell phone that warrants that kind of expenditure?

Just bring your own phone to a new provider, unlock it (easy - use google, or ask the service provider to unlock it).

Until something on my Audi needs fixing......then I feel poor because I have to mortgage my house to pay for replacement parts.

Let's not revive old threads just to discuss Audi and Suzuki shall we :) I think the original subject has been truly covered, but if there is anything else to say, let's confine it to the topic, not side subjects.

On topic: the coverage between Fido and Koodo has changed since Melissa asked originally, now on postpaid plans whichever tower is more powerful, either service connects to. So even that is no longer a huge consideration :)

Well, I personally have the Nexus 5 and when I was using Fido, my signal bar was always maxed out and now that I'm with Koodo, I get half-max. But honestly, Koodo's reception is pretty good.
