What steps to take to switch from current Telus contract?

What exactly are the steps I need to take to switch my Telus iPhone 4 (still on contract, 3 months left) to Koodo? I have read somewhere to take it directly to a Koodo booth, get the SIM card, and I keep my number and they contact Telus to cancel my contract. I've also seen references to having to give your original contract company 30 days notice? I don't want to do something the 'wrong' way and end up being a huge hassle. Thanks.

Well, have you called Telus first? Don't you have some fees to pay if you end your contract too soon?

If you'd like to keep your current number, go to Koodo and they'll cancel your Telus line for you. If you cancel with Telus first then you won't be to keep your number.

When you contract has expired maybe give them more then 30 days notice so that you can port your number and Koodo will cancel your Telus without any penalty.

This is just SPAM.
You don't need to unlock your phone to go from Telus to Koodo. They are the same company.
