It may be your charger or the battery. Try a different charger/cable. Check out the battery; does it seem to have gotten fat/swollen?

If your phone's battery drained completely, you may need to charge it for a while before it will turn on. I recommend plugging it in, leaving it for an hour or so, and if it still refuses to turn on, then you can try a different cable. If that fails, and your phone has a replaceable battery, the ideal thing to do would be to try a different battery (if you know anyone with the same phone.

Without knowing your exact phone model, it's difficult to recommend the next steps after that. It may or may not be worth it to purchase a new battery.

The age of the device/battery is another critical piece of information that would be helpful. Over time, the battery will gradually lose its ability to hold a charge. Some symptoms might include having to charge the battery more often to get through the day, or that the battery drains unusually fast without anything running in the background (e.g. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, etc).

If your phone has a removable battery, inspect the battery compartment and the battery itself for any moisture. The moisture (if present) is the electrolyte stored in the battery, if the battery case has cracked, become swollen or has bulged, do not continue charging the battery as fire or explosion may result. Remove any electrolyte from the battery compartment and get a new battery.
