I need a phone that works in an area that does not have good signal strength. The location on the coverage map is Yellow - 4G HSPA. My old Flip Phone needed an external antennae attached for it to work properly. It is on the West Coast of Vancouver Island, B.C., Canada surrounded by 150 Ft. Trees.

Coverage in that area is going to be spotty with any phone you get unfortunately but that's the price you pay to live in such an awesome part of Canada. The west side of the island actually has no coverage so your lucky you got the reception you did with your old phone. If you still have your old phone you might be best to just keep it until they possibly expand the service or they stop their CDMA network in the area. If you need a new phone you may just have to do a trial and error to see what phone seems to work best the exact terrain in your area. All the phones have fairly similar signal strength so there's no particular phone that is ahead of any other in signal strength.
