What is local time if you are not home?

I have a 506 area code number in New Brunswick. I am planning to spend 2 months in Alberta. If my calls are "free minutes" after 5 pm local time, whose local time will it be... 5 pm in Alberta or 5 pm in New Brunswick? I asked this question to two different Koodo kiosks today and received the exact opposite answers. One said it would be after 5 pm in Alberta (and therefore 8 pm New Brunswick time).. and the other said it would be after 5 pm in New Brunswick (and therefore 8 pm in Alberta). Who to believe?

5 pm in Alberta. Your local time is where you are.

Your free evenings and weekends are based on tower location. If you travel so your free time will travel with you. We have it all figure it out. Just go and no worry. Follow the local time where you will be standing at!

Thanks very much.. Now I'll have to educate the Koodo kiosk who gave me the wrong answer.
