What is "balance forward from last bill" charge?

On the monthly bill, every second month there is a substantial charge labelled "balance forward from last bill", and it nearly doubles my monthly charge. What is this charge?

If the unpaid amount from your previous bill.  Hence the Late charge fee too

But I have paid every month, yes this one was a couple days late, but I paid it. It just seems as though I am being double charged for the last month, and it is only every second month that this charge is shown on my bill even when paid on time

If you paid your bill late and around the same time the new invoice was created, it may not have caught the payment in time.  I would review your past pdf ebills from self serve and compare them to your payment history to make sure they are correct

This is my bill from April 2016, and it says the correct total that it should be...

@ Colin/Helen, looking at your account, it indeed seems that you are paying your invoices full only at every second or third month for almost a year now. Hence the outstanding balance appearing on a regular basis.

Ok, this may seem like a like a stupid question, but how am I not fully paying, is it that am paying late? I'm not sure when I pay, it is possible to pay for only a portion of the invoices.

And this is what it says at the top of the bill for May 2016, so I guess that's what is confusing me

In May you paid the whole bill, but June was missed, that's why July has a past due again. I hope that helps! :-)

Yeah that helps, I think it was just a series of mistakes on my part that I just didn't know I was making, and then got confused. Thanks

What dates were the payments made? As it indicates in the last paragraph on the may bill, if the payments have not been received by koodo by the 27th of the month they will not be reflected on the next bill. Please note that anything other than a credit card payment will take at least two business days to be posted to koodo's systems, with some types of payments talking significantly longer.

It is a global payment card, so that could be the issue, but If I pay the $117, shouldn't that clear my debt for the next month? Because the last two months the amount due was $117, even though I paid the first month.
