I would like to make my next phone the BlackBerry Passport. Why doesn't Koodo carry phones from a Canadian Company? We should all support Canadian companies when we can

The passport has a very limited appeal in my opinion. Weird form factor to start with. And even BB said they aim the business user for this model. Koodo is not after those, I suppose.

You call always just buy one, have it unlocked and put it on your koodo account.

I understand what you are saying, but we should all be supporting Canada when we can. It would be proper for a Canadian Company like Koodo to offer Canadian products for us to choose from. It doesn't matter if everyone likes the model on offer, there are several to choose from and it supports better jobs for our fellow Canadians. Koodo wants our Canadian dollars, it would be ethical for them to offer Canadian products to us. All these Chinese products are killing our own economy, yet we buy them only because they are cheap. I understood that BlackBerry doesn't actually manufacture those phones on Canadian soil, but they DO provide really good jobs for hundreds of Canadians and can only do that if someone is buying their products.
