What does "Long distance calls use anytime minutes" mean?

In FAQs about long distance charges, it says "All Long Distance calls use anytime minutes". I don't understand this. I have been making most of my long distance calls on evenings and weekends and it looks like they are not being counted, but the ones I make during the weekday are counted towards my 100 minutes, so what does this mean?

Hi there...

Most likely you have a Canada Wide plan, so it means, that even if you are not paying for Long Distance, they still are deducted from your airtime allowance...

Enjoy!

Let's say you have a plan with 100 minutes to use anytime on a Canada wide plan.

Any call you make from anywhere in Canada to anywhere in Canada is subtracted from your 100 minutes but you don't pay any long distance charges.

Now, if your plan has evenings and weekends then during those times, zero minutes are used for your calls to anywhere in Canada!

Thanks Chad. Good answer. I think Koodo words this badly as it implies that long distance eats into your airtime regardless of when you make your LD call. They should be more clear that LD and airtime are two distinct things.

They aren't and I'm sorry if I gave you that impression.

The wording is there for people who are on older plans that aren't Canada wide.

Your answer was perfect. It was the Koodo website I was referring to - it really needs to be clearer than just a statement "All long distance calls use anytime minutes", since clearly that statement isn't accurate for people on Canada wide plans. Hence my confusion! Any chance you have clout with the web designers?

Evelina, welcome to the community, as you can see this question had been answered. Also repeating answers already given is frowned upon. I love that you want to help but everytime you post on an answered question you're pushing legitimate help seekers further down the list. Try tackling a question that no one has answered yet.
