What do koodo points mean?

When i log into Koodo Community, i earn points. I'm just not sure what good these points are. Can they be traded in for some discount? or are they just providing a status of who contributes the most to the community?

Secondly, since the change in the plan/tab earlier this month, if you have multiple lines subscribed to koodo in your account, are you entitled to a certain % off your plan? or is that something koodo doesn't do?

I'm unsure i couldn't find answers to these questions on the forum.

The points are to earn badges, you won't be getting any discount on you bill.

As long as your lines are on the same account what koodo gives you is unlimited calls between them across the country.

Koodo still does not have any discounts for multiple lines

Okay that's what i thought. I was hoping that these points/badges actually meant something.

Also, too bad that multiple lines don't really get you a discount of some sort. I know for a fact Koodo's competitors offer that.

The points make it a game, where possibly you can become a mobile master. But although you are not doing it for a discount on your bill, you are doing it to help other people that maybe have the same problem as you had once.

I know that sometimes the wait time to talk to an agent can seem like forever, this is just people helping other people. Maybe your answer means a few people don't call in, thus cutting down the wait time. Maybe your problem happens in the middle of the night and their are people on the computer that can help you right then instead of having to wait until tomorrow morning.

Most of us are customers, there are a few employees, but overall we are just here to help others out.

Hi Ailsa, if it's something that you can do through self serve, you will get charged for the call. For things that are beyond your control, (e.g. an error on your account, or a problem with your phone), there's no charge for the call.

The reason you are asked to use a landline or a friends' phone is so that the rep can guide you through the troubleshooting steps on your phone. The rep may ask you to reboot your phone or perform other functions which would make it next to impossible for you to do if you're talking to the rep on your own phone.

That's great. I think with all the loyalty programs that use a point system it was confusing. It's nice to help others out and sometimes it's better getting perspective from a customer as well. Especially if you want the real scoop on how a new phone is before you buy and such, most employees won't tell u any drawbacks I would assume. It's really nice actually to see this type of forum on a mobile company.

Whether we do this just to 'Pay it Forward' or not, we are freeing up allot of Human Resources for Koodo by doing this and they should at least throw us something special.

They are a business, and although very friendly, they are not our friend.
Don't kid yourself, the points unless otherwise noted are nothing but a farce, to make us feel special.
Its the equivalent of thanking your pizza delivery guy with a smile and a thank you.  When you thank your delivery service with just a thank you, all your really doing is insulting that person.  Cash is the only way to thank a contract delivery person.

I have no trouble with helping someone out, and I don't do it for a 'Thank you' I do it because its the right thing to do.  Its my Christian way.

Koodo/Telus/Roger's/etc... pay their dealers a residual to service their customers.  If corporate gets too many calls from one particular dealer's customers, Head office will reduce that dealer's residual...

With all the traffic they get on this forum, I'm surprised they don't have targeted ads...
