Best solution to a weekend in the USA. Seems that Koodo has cancelled their 3 day USA plan and only has a 30 days plan. I'm sure more people travel to the USA for daily, weekend or weekly visits vs. monthly. We'd ideally like our phone, text and data.
What is our best option, it certainly is a waste of money to buy a 30 day plan when we'll only be there (this time) for a weekend.

It's not a 30 day plan. It is indeed good for a month but you pay for a set amount of texts and data if you wish. If you use another one get a added.

For example the $15 US add on gives you 400 outgoing and incoming texts. It doesn't matter how long you are going for, you have acces to it for 30 days.

I don't find Koodo prices too high but it all depends what you intend to use your phone for. If your phone is unlocked you could get a Roam Mobility SIM card from Future Shop. They have plans for $2.95/day.

Roam Mobility use Tmobile as their roaming partner as oppose to AT&T with Koodo. I think AT&T has a bigger and better service than Tmobile, considering AT&T is the 2nd largest mobile company in the USA and Tmobile is last at 4th.

Beware AT&T! There only prepaid plan for smartphones is 60$ for unlimited talk/txt/ and 1gb Data. And you can't use that unlimited talk to call/text canada.

Also their terms of service are so vague you're highly likely to get suspended within the first few days.
