Hi Ihor,

It means that you do not have coverage where you are located. You can try shutting the phone down, removing the battery and SIM for a few minutes then trying again.

Take a look at the coverage map

If you had coverage where you are and you suddenly stopped getting coverage. It might mean Your Sim has become defective and you need a new one, which you can buy at any koodo store

As Tood suggests, bring the phone in to a Koodo boutique. They will be able to test your SIM in one of their phones, also your phone using one of their SIMS and quickly pinpoint the problem.

Hello Ihor!

Are you still experiencing issues with your signal strength? Were you able to bring the device to a Koodo Shop as suggested above? Keep us updated :)

I have a new IPhone, and have been a Koodo customer for three years in Calgary. My home in Lynnwood-Millican, at the top of the ridge, has always had pretty good reception, but recently it is difficult to maintain a conversation - two dots at best and a lot of garbling/dropping of words. Called Koodo Support and had a great chat with a promise that he would get back to me, which unfortunately never happened. Are others having problems in this area of town?  How can we restore quality reception in this area?  HELP!

Probably best to call back again and find out if there's a problem with the cell tower that services your area. *611, option 6 should get you to tech support.

I'm not sure how accurate (geographically) this cell tower map is, (link below), but it looks like there's a tower or antenna array near or in a rail yard, (could be mounted atop a building). Type in Lynnwood-Millican in the search box, zoom out a bit and you'll see what I mean.

The rep might be able to tell which cell tower/array you're using. If it's a tower that's say near 10 Street SE or 15 Street SE, your iPhone may be struggling to maintain signal due to the distance from the cell tower.

Since when did it start happening? If it's where you live, then it's best to do basic troubleshooting steps. Yes, try to reboot your phone, or if it's applicable, try resetting the network settings. You can also try putting it on flight mode for a few minutes and then disabled it.

You can also check with friends online who are Koodo subs (who happens to be around the same area) if they are having the same issue as you do, so you rule out the possibility of it being a SIM card issue or a phone one.
