I dropped my iPhone 5s into the sink by accident does apple care cover water damage and if so how do i get it fixed?

Regular applecare will not cover accidental damage. You would need to get applecare+ which would cover two cases of accidental damage for two years. You have 60 days from the date of purchase to buy it. Otherwise you'll have to get it repaired or replaced out of pocket unfortunately.

If you go looking at repair options, make sure you look at several repair shops and kijiji for quotes and reviews.

Apple will replace your phone, for $269 + tax:

If you have Apple Care+, then it's only $79 before tax.

Replacing through Apple will let you keep the remainder of your warranty (or give you 90 days warranty, whichever's longer), while going through another business will void your warranty.
