i bought a phone samsung a5 2017 in june at the eedt Edmonton kiosk and the sales rep applied a glass screen protector, the screen protector broke recently and when I went to inquire about purchasing a new one at a different store they said that I could just use the warranty from the box to get one for like $5 however at the time the protector was applied the box was thrown out before I left the kiosk is there a way to still get the warranty on the protector ?

No there's no way to get the warranty especially since I've never heard of a warranty on glass screen protectors as they are meanl to break that's actually how they protect the display is taking the brunt force and smashing instead of the display.
Visit eBay or amazon and you'll be bale to find one for $5 or $10.

They actually cover physical damage, I've gotten two replacements from Puregear so far from a cracked glass screen protector.

Both Otterbox and Zagg offer limited lifetime warranties for their glass screen protector products.

Depends on whether you paid for the screen protector, or if it was thrown in as a freebie. If the latter, then it's unlikely the manufacturer will honour the warranty claim without some sort of proof in the way of a serial number, QR or bar code from the box. In some cases, you have to register the product online to be eligible for warranty service.

If purchased, the screen protector might appear on the phone receipt as an added accessory, or on a separate receipt. At very least, this verifies proof of purchase. The manufacturer of the screen protector might be printed on the receipt, in which case this would allow you to contact them and explain the situation. No guarantees, but worth a shot.

If you can't find the receipt(s), Paul's suggestions for eBay or Amazon would be your next best alternative.

Yeah you guys are correct I just read the box from one of the name brand ones I got. Weird to have a warranty on something that's meant to break to protect something else but hey take advantage if possible for sure.

Puregear offers a one year limited warranty. It does cover broken screen protector. You will have to contact puregear through their website and ask for a replacement. They may ask for proof of purchase, the box typically is not asked.

How did it break? if you dropped & broke it, it might not be cover by their warranty. http://www.pure-gear.com/warranty/
