There is an awesome, awesome special on right now: the Nexus 4 for $150 - grab it while you can - if you still can :D

Apart from that, Note 2 is nice (big though), Galaxy S4, or Nexus 5 (cheapest from Google).

Galaxy S5 is coming soon if you really want the latest and greatest... but that won't be too affordable I'm sure, since that will be their flagship device.

Personally I use note2. However I did own s4 and it too is a great phone. Ultimately you have to chose based on your preferences.

You could get a unlocked htc one, which is an awesome phone and you can snag them for a decent price off of craigslist and since the new htc one (the m8) is coming out soon, the one's price will probably decrease quite a bit. As Sophia suggested, nexus 5 is also great, I actually got to try one a while ago and it was FAST, you'll definitely notice a difference.

Nexus 4 is a steal if it's $150, it's basically a slightly better unlocked Moto G. That would be free on Tab S.

If you want a physical keyboard, the Q5 fits the bill and BlackBerry 10 is an underrated OS.

Nexus 5 for sure, it's the best bang for your buck and is actually my favorite phone with the only thing really lacking IMO is the battery. The battery isn't bad by any means but it's not a strong feature on it.
The strongest features are it's speed which it's the fastest phone koodo carries hands down and the other is the display it's got the best display of any phone on the market today IMO

Google Play Store aside, it's too expensive.

Also while I agree with the comment about the display, I'd say it's pretty much on par or just under its cousin the G2. Which also has a way better battery and camera. I just don't like the software UI. If you root it and use stock Android, it'll probably knock your socks off.

I'm honestly not sure if there's anything that's a worthwhile upgrade for your phone that's not too expensive. Yes, the Nexus 4 is a great deal at $150, but it's not an upgrade in every department (lackluster camera, weak non-removable battery, lack of expandable memory compared to your S2X).

The S2X is still a rather capable device IMO.

The Nexus 4 has been discontinued from Koodo. Which means they won't be restocking it. If you go for the Nexus 4, you will want to get it asap.
