With iOS 10.2 released yesterday, TELUS also launched iPhone WiFi Calling http://www.telus.com/en/bc/support/article/wifi-calling-explained?INTCMP=VAN_wificalling & VoLTE http://www.iphoneincanada.ca/carriers/telus/telus-wifi-calling-ios-10-2/ with carrier update 27.1.

Does Koodo plan on releasing a WiFi Calling & VoLTE carrier update/support as well? Competing flanker brand Fido (with Rogers) also have this fantastic service.

Both VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling are on our road-map for future launch, but unfortunately we don't have information on when at this time. When we do know more, we'll be sure to share this news in the community, among other outlets.

Unfortunately I have no other info. on specific requirements or compatibility at this time. Likely won't be able to confirm or advise further until we're ready to announce that these services are available with Koodo, which as I mentioned above, we don't have a timeline for.

Other carriers further along the upgrade route seem to support the LG G4, probably with a software update. Best to wait on Koodo's launch, as per Ranjan. You may or may not need new gear after all.

Well this is exciting! VoLTE with parent company TELUS has expanded to support more devices including: iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone SE and LG Power X via: http://www.telus.com/en/bc/support/article/how-to-use-volte

Come on Koodo! We want wide-band audio codecs please :)

To my knowledge, Telus is not currently offering VoLTE outside BC and AB. It also requires a new SIM card to work, and is only available on a few phone models. No timeline of it becoming available to Koodo customers.

I'm in Ontario on Telus and I've been using VoLTE for some time now, not sure if it was 3 months ago but def more than a month.  Also I didn't need a new SIM.

With the release of iOS 10.3 I was hoping to see a carrier update with Koodo to support volte and wifi calling, but it appears we're still on version 28.

Is there anything on the horizon Koodo?
