I just moved provinces and changed by phone number. I'd like to set up a new voicemail on my new number. I've dialed my phone number from my phone and I get:

Welcome to your wireless voice messaging centre, please enter the mailbox number of the person you'd like to leave a message for or press pound to access your own mailbox.

I press pound and it doesn't recognize my new phone number with or without 1 infront or the last four digits or any numbers I've tried. My self serve shows my password as my phone number. Any help would be appreciated.

Rather than dialing your own number, press and hold 1 on the keypad until it dials your voicemail access number. Try your password then.

Try accessing your voicemail from your home phone! Dial your number, and then when you're at the voicemail dial * (star) to access your voicemail settings!

Keep us up to date if it worked!

Call from another phone at 1-866-995-6636, press option 5 for Tech dept to verify together regarding your voicemail configurations

Tech department was able to help. Removing and putting the battery back in was part of it.

Glad it is working now. Sometimes a good old battery pull can fix many problems with the phone.

Sounds like the phone was still using the old vm access number. It can be either pushed to the sim card by tech support, in which case the battery pull is required, or manually updated on the phone. You'd still need to call tech support to get the right access number though.
