Hello, I would like to know how do I change the number of ringings before my voicemail starts on my cellphone, because 6 ringings is a lot.
Thanks!

Unfortunately there's no way to set the number of rings however for most people it's four. Strange yours is six, keep in mind your phone may physically ring more than the calling party hears.

No,
I really tried to calling me on my cell phone and my friends also say it's 6 rings. I think it is an option that koodo should revise.

Thank you Chad !

It doesn't make sense that this option can't be changed. Should be able to set it from 1 ring to 10 or from 2 seconds to whatever. Why is this an unchangeable option. I had Fido before and was able to change # of rings before voice mail picked up.

Special thanks to rikkster

If someone has an Android device they can try this.

1- Dial *#61# on your device. It should say something like this:

Call Forwarding
Voice: +########## after XX seconds
The "+###..." is the number that calls are forwarded to- write this down. The "XX" is the amount of time a caller has to wait in seconds.

2- Dial **61*+##########*11*XX# with "+###..." being the number you wrote down, and "XX" being the new amount of time. Note that the amount of time can only be increased/decreased in 5 second intervals, i.e. you can enter "15" but not "26". You should get a "Network Message" saying something like this:

Call Forwarding
Registration was successful

3- Everything should now be set up! You can check by dialing *#61# and seeing how much time the caller has to wait, or calling the device and seeing how long you wait until voicemail.

I tried before I posted and it works. My phone was set to 25 seconds now it's set to 15. The number of rings is down to 4 from 6. This method also worked on my previous smartphone and I wasn't charged then either.

I just tried this series of steps with both my husband's and my iph 4S, and it works for them as well. Thanks, samsvoc!
