I have always been able to access my voicemail from another phone by pressing * when I get my greeting then entering my password. Now, when I press * I get the automated msg "you need to call from your own phone to set up your voicemail, goodbye" I never get the chance to enter my password. Why is this happening?

Hey Tony. I just tried to see if it worked for me and it is. I'm not sure why yours isn't working. Maybe try rebooting your phone and try again.

Have you set up your voicemail since Koodo did the recent update?  You would need to create your new voice messaging and password from your phone for security reasons.

Hey Tony!

dfbutt is right! You probably need to set up your Voicemail. Indeed we offer a new Voicemail service and you need to re-configure it first from your Koodo phone and then you'll be able to access it from another phone (http://koo.do/VMm7n).

Hope this helps!

Thanks!

That would be difficult because my phone is over 1000 miles away!!!

I have been out of the country since last October and am not returning until mid April. I always leave my phone at home and simply access voicemail for messages. I would rather use a local disposable pay-as-you-go phone to avoid roaming charges etc. I knew nothing of these voicemail changes. Also my "old" voice mail worked fine only 3 weeks ago which is long after the Oct 2015 change date.

I never use text messages. Why don't you communicate with your customers via email?

I believe it was a late January / early February change for many folks, based on the discussion on this forum.

Is there a family member of friend who might help you out?

Simplest answer - every Koodo customer has an easily accessible point of contact via text - their phone number. They may or may not have email, or up to date email address.

Koodo: This stinks. I also suddenly lost ability to retrieve my messages remotely and do not relish the out of country roaming charges to reset my phones. My phones have been off since last fall.
Is there an other fix?

Hi Don,

We would love to help but the set up of your new Voicemail can only be done from your Koodo phone (for security reasons). If you need more info, please click here: https://www.koodomobile.com/voicemail.

Thanks!

I agree with the rest! This is bullshit!!! It stinks that I have to pay roaming charges to set up my voicemail! Bad terrible awful way to go koodo! Boooooo!! How frustrating - I cannot check my messages from another phone, without maiing extra revenue for koodo by payinf=g roaming charges while I use my phone! Why can we not do this via our online koodo account??????!!!!!!!!!!!

@Tove,
David has responded to you in another thread: https://community.koodomobile.com/koodo/topics/how_do_i_retrieve_voice_mail_messages_from_a_landline

You could try to reset password in selfserve and see if it works for you.
