Very contradictory answers in regard to what points can be used for

Is there a RECENT ruling from Koodo as to what, if anything, points in the Koodo Community Forum can be used for?  Do they "mean" anything?  I see some people have thousands and thousands of points...!   So I'm thinking they are maybe a "prestige" ranking among community members who actively participate in helping others in the forum???  And nothing more?  Some people in this forum thought they could be used towards buying a "new phone", but others say not so!  Does anyone know for sure?
