How do I use koodo for standard internet use with my laptop. I live in a rural area but Koodo cell use is very good here. I think I saw where my cell (android LG brand) can be a wifi hotspot. Please let me know how to do a internet setup for laptop.

Go into settings, tethering, Wi-Fi hotspot. Beware though that a computer will burn through your data allotment rapidly. Automatic updates alone will likely put you into overage. Be sure that you also set up your laptop to consider it a metered connection. Right click on the network after you establish a connection and select set as metered connection. It'll limit updates and some things. You can also browse with opera, as it has pretty good data compression built in. Keep a close eye on your data usage.

You my wish to look at a wireless hotspot, if you expect to connect your laptop anything other than rarely.
For instance, Telus offers a Smart Hub for home internet, as does Bell, and likely Rogers.
See this link for Telus' option:

Tethering a laptop to your phone may be OK just to check email or for emergency use, but it get expensive extremely fast. Another alternative might be satellite if you have a clear view of the southern sky.
