I'm leaving home (QC) for a two-week trip to Seattle. My husband, son and I all have Koodo monthly plans on our mobile phones. We also have a Koodo home phone. I'm going to add a 30-day unlimited talk and text plan to my phone, but will my family be able to make calls to me in the US from their mobiles or the home phone? What about texts? And will they be charged extra for receiving my calls and texts from the US?

Thank you for your help.

If they are going to be out of Canada as well then they will be roaming and will need packages themselves to pay much less than the pay per use rates. The only thing they won't be charged extra pay per use is receiving texts.

Sorry: I tried to edit my message to make it clearer that I'm going away without my family. I'll be in Seattle; they'll remain in QC. Too late to change the msg though.

You will appear to them as if you were down the street.

As long as they are in Canada, their calls will be as normal. Any calls you make while you're roaming however, will count toward your roaming plan, including those to people on the same account as you. But since the roaming plan you mentioned has unlimited talk and text, that won't be an issue. Keep in mind text does not include picture messages (MMS).

Good reminder about pics. I hadn't thought of that. Thank you.
