I bought a Nexus 4 from my brother, it has a Koodo SIM card. He got a new phone and is not using this one. I am currently a Koodo customer and have an older Samsung Galaxy Ace, but want to upgrade to this new-to-me Nexus. My SIM card from my old phone is the wrong size. Can I use his SIM card, as I have his permission to do so (and all the original paperwork from the phone purchase/plan)? Or do I have to buy another SIM card?

Hi Andrea,

With the Nexus 4 you can put any sim card from any service provider into the phone since it is factory unlocked. Now when it comes to the old sim that your brother had, the number that he had will be associated with that sim and will not be allowed to be activated under anyone else, so in this case you'd need to purchase a new sim from Koodo to get it to work.

Hope that helps answer your question :)
