Upgrading my phone! But I'm wondering if my data connection will actually be slower now?

Hi all!

I recently had to retire my older Samsung S2X (bought from Koodo).

I decided I wanted one the newer Motorolas because I wanted a phone with some manufacturer software support. So, I bought the new 2014 Moto G unlocked.

Then I noticed the the network specs:

Moto G 2014 Netwrok:
GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
UMTS/HSPA+ (850, 1900, 1700 MHz)

Samsung Galaxy S2x:
Cellular Networks: GSM850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, UMTS850 (B5), UMTS1700/2100 (B4), UMTS2100 (B1)
Cellular Data Links: GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA, HSUPA, HSPA+

I saw in another post here that the Koodo 4G runs on the 2100mhz band,
Does this mean my new Moto G data connection will be slower than my 3 year old S2x ? I honestly didn't even think My S2x had 4G until now.

Your S II X has the same data speeds as the Moto G. Real 4G is actually called 4G LTE or just LTE, and neither phones support it.
