Only one line has negative tab balance and the other had BYOD 10% discount. Why do I have to pay off the negative tab if I only want to upgrade the other line with no tab balance? Is not the tab tied to one line only? The self-service page does not mention this at all. Now I went ahead to upgrade, was asked to pay off my wife's negative tab balance, and I LOST MY 10% DISCOUNT and the upgrade did not go through!!

Tab is tied to one line only. Yes.

But just to make sure. Who had the 10% and who wanted to upgrade the phone?

Did you pay your wifes negative balance because she was the one who wanted to,upgrade and then YOU lost your 10%? That is indeed weird.

Sorry let me clarify.

I was trying to upgrade my line which has no tab balance, but after I agreed to switch to the new tab system, I was asked to pay off my wife's balance before I could proceed fuether. I did not expect I need to. The next thing I found, my discount is gone but no plan upgrade occurred.

Hey there! Were you sure that you clicked on the right phone number when changing the plans? There's no reason why the system would prompt you to pay off another subscribers Tab if you're not making any changes to them.  Can you check your wife's line to see if her plan changed to the one you wanted?

I am 100% sure I chose the correct line because I tried a few times. However, I just gave another try 15 minutes ago and this time the window asking for paying off the tab balance did not show up. It just went through. I am a happy man now.

Not sure if I was just having a bad day with the system or what, because I did run into a few minor problems before when the link I clicked took me to a wrong page. Going back one step or reloading the page always seemed to solve the problem but it did not yesterday.

Anyways thanks for the help!
