Hi,

I didn't buy my phone from Koodo, but I'm currently with them.

My question is how do OS updates typically work? They have to go through the carrier, I thought the manufacturer would update them?

Another thing why do I get references on T-mobile that they are sending out OS updates, when we're in Canada? Some sort of partnership or something with them.

Usually with an unlocked device, just pulling the sim and connecting via WiFi might trigger the original carriers update.

Was the original Carrier? T Mobile?

No Korea Telecom.

Then Korea Télécom will be updating your phone not Koodo. If it's saying T-Mobile in the update info then it's actually a T-Mobile phone not a Korea Telecom.
