I just got a new Essential phone and wanted to check unlock online does the below "UNLOCK_NOT_SENT" just mean the phone is already factory unlocked?

Before you unlock your phone...

  • You'll need a SIM card from another carrier to complete the unlock process.
  • Please make sure to enter the exact unlock code provided. Your phone could be permanently locked and unusable after three (3) incorrect attempts.
  • This unlock code is unique to your phone and will not expire.

The unlock instructions might be different based on your phone, but the steps below will apply for almost all phones.
  1. Power off your phone.
  2. Remove your current SIM card and insert a SIM from another carrier
  3. Power your device back on.
  4. Enter your unlock code when prompted on your screen: UNLOCK_NOT_SENT

The phone is already unlocked as far as I know. If you pop in another carrier SIM and it doesn't ask for a code then it's unlocked. For phones that are not unlocked already you need to send Koodo a private message to their FB page and include the phones IMEI# to request an unlock code.
