I have just bought a new phone and want to sell my old one. I'd like to sell it 'unlocked'. The phone I want to sell is an LG G4 from Koodo. Can Koodo provide an unlock code for me for free? If not, what is a cheap but reputable place to buy an unlock code?

Koodo charges 50 bucks to unlock phones. You'd be best off unless it's an apple phone to look to third party alternatives. I personally go on eBay and look for a combo of price and high feedback.

I have unlocked several phones over the years using eBay. As Goran mentioned, just look at price and feedback.

Thanks! I have bought a code from a seller on Ebay for about $2. I'll reply to confirm if and how it works. Cheers.

Just to follow up to help others wondering, I got the unlock code from a seller on eBay that goes by the name mobunlockingmaster
The code was $1.99USD and they sent it in about 2 hours. I haven't used the code since I'm selling the phone and I don't have a non-Koodo SIM card. I have no reason to believe it won't work, but I'll make sure whoever buys my phone is able to use it and it all works. I'll post again when that happens.
Thanks!

A final follow up in case others have the same questions as me.
The unlock code worked!
A person wanted to buy my phone and they brought their SIM card. We put their SIM card in my phone, powered it on and a screen appeared asking for an unlock code. We entered it and it worked on their network (Wind/ Freedom).
So, easy peasy - and cheap to unlock too!
Again - code from Ebay from seller mobunlockingmaster for $1.99USD
