Unlimited data will never truly happen the way people want it to. Wind has "unlimited data" but throttle the speeds after 5 gb. I'd rather not have my speeds throttled.

Yes, it actually is. Only people who video stream, torrent or tether will say that 2 GB is not enough.

Marcus to use your phone to its full potential and let everything run as normal without having to restrict anything and take away from the way your smartphone is meant to be used you need more than 2gb of Data and there's no way around that fact. You have a smartphone to be used the way it's intended to be used and that is streaming the odd video, surfing the Web, playing games that sync data, use social apps, Sending and receiving email as you recieve them in real time not waiting till on wifi, recieve and send MMS, upload photos after taking the shot, let apps sync all the time even over data connection to get live updates of info and messages as they occur with no need to wait for a wifi connection to be available.
It's not right that to use your smart phone as its intended to be used on the go that you would have an outrageous bill and be working just to pay your bill each month . In smaller towns and cities wifi hotspot are not available like they are in more populated places & the ppl in those lower populated areas need to have a much higher rate of use of the data connection on their phone that 2gb's will not cover.

Having a smartphone and being limited to 2gb of data and having to watch every kb of data one uses to the point of waiting to be connected to wifi to do anything data related is like having a Ferrari & putting a governor on it to not be able to get the full use as intended of the product.

Can you imagine how much more enjoyable your smartphone would be if you never ever had to worry about how much data your using & could use it as smartphones are truly meant to be used, it would be incredible and I pray for that day.

I agree with all those who'd like to see high GB's or unlimited data!

I also agree with those who say it's not coming even in our wildest dreams.

I can therefore only conclude that we're doomed :(

I do use my phone to it's full potential AND stay within the 2GB.

Haha let's not argue about what another person should need :) That's so different for everybody... hence the many plan options!
That said, I too wish data was a lot cheaper - don't think ANYBODY could argue that (except perhaps the shareholders) :D

If it's not going to be 'cheaper' necessarily, I'd like to at least see plans that address the need for higher allotments. Somthing along the lines of a 1GB plan, 3GB plan, 5GB plan, etc....

Well then you have no room to complain really. You shouldn't be doing data intensive usage unless you're on a wifi connection.

Unlimited data & international calliny plans are what koodo is missing

Unlimited Data is nothing something Koodo will ever offer. For international calling, there's the Long Distance Saver.

Whats the Long Distance Saver?

It's an add-on ($2) that allows for cheaper calls abroad, Adrian. For example the USA and most of Europe can be called for 5 cents per minute with the LD saver :)

60$ isn't "expensive" unless you don't mind your Data being throttled.

By comparison, in the US "truly unlimited" Data without being throttled are either no longer available or cost 80-100$ depending on the carrier.

Personally I'd gladly pay Koodo 80$ for a Plan with unlimited Anytime Calls & Data ... or even limited Anytime Calls with unlimited Data.

Depending on your Plan & location, you can get extra Data for 10$/GB if you want. It's automatic & fairly reasonably priced - just use more Data & get a higher bill. I did that for a few months.

I don't see unlimited data coming to a nation-wide, consumer-oriented brand like Koodo any time soon. If ever it's available on a nation-wide provider it will be on business accounts long before consumer accounts because business owners/managers are the only ones who you can convince me that truly need unlimited data.

For anyone else it's a luxury and not economical for Koodo to provide at this time.

With the way the market is changing, I would not expect unlimited data whatsoever. Also, $60 is NOT expensive. That's actually about average.
