Hello! I just switched my plan, and it lists "Unlimited Canadian LD" as a feature. Does this mean I do not get charged any long distance for incoming or outgoing calls made within Canada? Also, does unlimited mean that long distance calls do not use any of my minutes? Just need clarification to be sure...

Koodo Canada wide plans will allow to make calls within Canada from coast to coast in any province to any province with no other extra LD charges.

Two years ago and still no answer? Do we get charged for air time on incoming and outgoing LD calls within Canada after 6 PM our time? $30 plan in Canada and the Telus rep says no air time charge on LD calls after 6. What is the truth?

If you have a Canada wide plan with 6PM Unlimited Evenings & Weekends, you can make calls within Canada and/or receive calls after 6 PM without LD charge as long as you are in Canada.

How many minutes are included in your plan?
If you make/receive calls day time, those minutes will deduct from your any time minutes.
If you went over your limit, THEN you will pay your air time.

Example : If you have 300 min on your plan
You made 100 min call at noon > You have 200 min left  >
You received 50 min call at 2PM > you have 150 min left  >
You made 100 min call at 7PM > no deduction, you have 150 min left >
You  made/receive 200 min calls  on Sunday > No deduction, you still have 150 min
And so on...
Then if you used up all your minutes and you used, say, 50 min extra > you will pay for air time.
Minutes overage charge is $0.5/min

Okay, so an in-depth look at Koodo's calling features:

All of Koodo's plans are Canada-wide (or at least they have been for a year and a half now). This means you will not get charged any LD/roaming for all calls made/received in Canada, regardless of your local zone. This is awesome. The only thing you need to keep track of is your airtime.

Calls made/received during the day use up minutes, but again, this is according to your plan. If you make/receive calls during a period described as "Unlimited evenings/weekends at X PM", then you wont' use airtime either.

If you have unlimited incoming calls, then any calls you receive will never use up any of your minutes, 24/7.

Finally, if you have an unlimited airtime plan, then you can make/receive calls 24/7 and never worry about it.

The only LD charges you'll see is if you make an outgoing call to a # outside of Canada or you'll get hit with roaming if you leave Canada and use your phone # that's on Koodo.

Not necessarily. Which plan do you have? When did you sign up? Did the rep explain everything to you?

Hi Amy, your plan includes 500 daytime minutes, anywhere in Canada. You get unlimited nationwide calling from 5pm to 8am during the week and from Friday 5pm to Monday 8am. Enjoy this great plan!
