It would be great to have an unlimited calls to the US like other carriers have for a reasonable price.

Don, check out Skype to go. Since koodo doesn't currently offer what we both want,I use skype to go numbers to make every call to the usa from canada a local call.

Pair that with one of Koodos unlimited talk plans or 5 essentials and you've got almost your wish.

It could theoretically be used with nights and weekends too

Skype to go allows you to convert up to 30 numbers all over the world into local numbers you can call from any phone. Unlimited North America is 2.99 a month

Until koodo offers something similar it works well for me.
And it's not even counter productive or unhelpful. ;-)

And hey Koodo Why Not create the north America. ADDON? Then I can cancel skype.

It would appear things have changed at skype my subscription is now called unlimited usa and canada. MEXICO isn't included but is available on another subscription but costs more. You could also go premium andbget you choice of country but obviously there is a fee.

I have to be honest, I find it DIShonest when companies say NORTH AMERICA and do not include Mexico. Everybody knows that Mexico is part of North America..... Also, I think I would love to have unlimited calls to Mexico included in the unlimited USA but, Telcel being as crooked as Bell here, I don't see it happening....

Well as I mentioned the name of my subscription has changed. It's a recurring sub and I don't log on much to check it. I am also noticing Microsoft has their hands all over it now so I totally expect them to F it up somehow.

I don't call the US so I don't care about this myself but I'm sure there are ppl that do & would really love this.

Does VM have this? Just curious why you switched from Virgin Don if by the sounds of it they have everything you want? You've made me extremely curious man

I was a very happy customer of Virgin Mobile untill the day they increased my bill by 20$ for no reason. I called them and they told me WORD PER WORD that they felt I didn't pay enough (I was on a 40$ per month exactly the same as the 50$ unlimited on Koodo). I told them, Koodo has the exact same plan but for 50$, why would I pay 60$ ? They told me the best they could do was 55$.

That is when I got angry, I had been a customer of theirs for 4 years. How could they do this to me.... (and that was the supervisor that told me what I wrote up there).

The thing that pissed me off was their arrogance. The same arrogance that got me away from Bell products at the first place. (at the time, I didn't know Bell had bought VMC)

Ya that would make me leave to. I take it grandfathered plans don't apply at Virgin then?

Once you pick a plan you have that plans price for as long as you have that plan, they can't come in and just change the price.

Koodo did have an unlimited us calling add on for a year or more. It was never very popular, only a few customers ever used it, so it was retired a few months back.

Nothing wrong with using skype. The one thing you need to be careful of with voip services though is that a few of them apparently use US numbers to relay calls. Which can result in exactly the long distance charges you're trying to avoid. I doubt that Koodo would be able to offer unlimited calling that cheaply though. I mean, even unlimited incoming calls is $10 a month.

@timo. When i dial my folks its an 819 number. As soon as it starts ringing the call is considered answered by the phone it's always a canadian number I'm calling. The routing is done after the local call is answered by skype

Agreed. Skype is a good one. People just need to remember to check the relay number if they use a different one.

Hey Don, we did have this at one point, but no many people made use of it. It was North American Calling for $30. It removed the long distance charge for calling into the States as well as in Canada. If there is enough of a demand for this feature, we may decide to bring it back :).

If you would bring this back, it would have to be at an updated price too.
