Unexplained charges

I have the $15 text plan with talk boosters.  On my booster usage history, I see quite a few calls to the number 7785804002 that are often only for a few seconds.  What is this number?  Is it the voicemail?  I also see calls to my own number which I think are the voicemail checks, and if that is the case, why am I being billed for the 7785804002 calls?

Yes that's your voicemail server.
When you call your own number you are checking your voicemail, if you just press and hold 1 it will call your voicemail server, they both do the same thing but will show on your bill with different numbers

Thx for confirming the 778 number. However, I only check my voicemail occasionally, and I do that by calling into my own number so why are there multiple charges showing up for the 778 number - way more than the number of times I check the VM. And they are for a few seconds only. If I'm calling VM, it will usually takes 1-2 min to go through all the prompts and msgs.

Koodo's voicemail system allows you to remove all prompts, (e.g. date and time of call, caller ID, etc.), so that you can access voicemail messages faster. After getting into voicemail, select option 4, to access personal options. To modify your personal preferences, press 4. To change playback preferences press 2. Select option 5, to enable automatic playback.

Customizing your voicemail settings as mentioned above, will consume your anytime minutes. One way around this is to upgrade to the $25 baseplan. The plan offers unlimited local calling, evenings and weekends after 7:00 pm. After 7:00 pm, you would be able to customize your voicemail settings, listen to voicemail messages or make local calls without worrying about using up your minutes. I realize you don't use voicemail much, just suggesting a possible alternative.

You will notice calls going to the -4002 number when people call you and the call goes to voicemail. These should not deduct any minutes from your talk boosters.

Thank you for your explanation.  That makes more sense as I don't make multiple calls to check my VM.  You said that when the call goes to VM, I should not have any minutes deducted from my talk boosters, but this is, in fact, happening.  Do I let Koodo know and ask for credit back?

You should call customer service if calls that go to voicemail are depleting your minutes - that is not how it's supposed to work.

If you are checking voicemail from your cell phone, that WILL reduce your minutes. To avoid that, check from a different line.
