Sorry to hear that... but we are only volunteers here and we can't help you out I'm afraid :( You need to call Koodo (*611) and talk to them directly :)

Unfortunately notifications of overages only apply to data as per the new CRTC Wireless code of conduct. Kind of silly. An overage charge is still an overage charge regardless of the type

To be fair, 700 minutes of overage is roughly 12 hours. I suspect the CRTC expects people to be more sensitive to the passage of time than the passage of data.

If your credit card bill is bigger than you expect, do you expect your credit card company to charge you less? Koodo may decide to be nice, but they are under no obligation to be.

I don't blame you, I'm quite shocked that you weren't informed you were going over your minutes. I don't quite understand it because if you were to go over your credit card limit, your bank would inform you quickly.

I suggest you file an official complaint, which would benefit all cell phone customers all over Canada really - you are not the only one with a horrendous bill. Particularly with children playing with cell phones and roaming fees etc, I think a cap should be on the WHOLE bill not just data!

Even if it doesn't, if people voice their dissatisfaction with things, it helps others. These things happen but I really feel there should be some warning system in place. I often talk to my relatives oversees and I have no idea how long I talk to them.

I'd cry if I had an unexpected bill like that and would lose a lot of sleep!

They offer you two meant to track your usage. Online or on your own. It's very simple and I can imagine why would you have not looked. Considering how long you talked. It's like saying to your hydro company I left all the lights on all month, my bill is too much can you pls take some off. I don;t think they would do that. :-)

I think you have to pay for what you have used. ( I mean we all do)
I would ask Koodo to make some payment arrangements if it is difficult to do it all at once. ( I don't know if they can do it though)

Unless u have proof that Koodo yes they will send u a notification when u reach your limit I think u should be on the hook for the bill

Koodo DOES NOT send notifications about airtime usage. You can tell them all you want but it won't happen at this time.

I suggest you switch to an unlimited talking plan so you don't have to worry about it anymore. Seems like you use the phone quite a bit.

Chances are it'll be a condition of crediting the charges.

I agree with Jonathan's answer. With the money that v dileep is spending in overages, it would only make sense to go unlimited.

I always find it funny when people want a deal or a beak after they use a service. If you can't afford it don't use it. Learn to monitor your time. Going over 12 hours is not that hard to miss.

Easy way to never have this happen use the kooky self serve app and check it periodically to make sure your within your limit or budget. Here's a link to the self serve app download from the PlayStore if you have an Android devicedevice, best of all its a free app - https://play.google.com/store/apps/de...

If you have an iPhone or BlackBerry 10 device just search the respective app store for the free download of other koodo self serve app.
Use the tools that your carrier supply you with as it your responsibility not your carriers to keep track of things. You have one person to look after where if it it was koodo responsibility they would have a few million per to look after so font expect them or any carrier to watch things for you.

This is one of those situations where unlimited airtime is needed. If you do not want to change the plan, no credits should be given IMHO. Simple resolution. Do no use your phone more than what is allowed. With the options available to track airtime usage, there is no reason for that amount of overusage to happen in the future.
