Got a new Samsung Galaxy SII x just before Christmas and at the time didn't have a data plan and when My phone was activated at The Mobile Shop, by default, data is already on and my phone used .9Meg of data before I got a chance to turn it off. My phone is now showing a "Data usage warning" notification for that. My question is, How do I remove that notification? I have tried almost everything I can think of short of resetting the phone back to factory default.

Try going to Settings - Data usage and click the menu button on the phone. You will see how to set up the data limit selection. - KID ANDROID. ( Team.Android.Canada)

Sorry don't hit the menu button after going into data usage in settings. You have to turn on data & you will see 2 bars on the graph move them up to a higher amount.

That's the only way I see without turning off your data like teabird said.

Hi there, did Kid Android and TeaBird's suggestions worked? If you have a stuck indicator on your phone, you should remove the battery while the phone is on for 2 minutes. Keep us updated!

dont have to turn off mobile data - just make sure that mobile data limit is not checked off.

Dave is correct. Uncheck the "Set mobile data limit" checkbox.

On the data usage graph, set the orange data usage limit bar to an area that's slightly above the highest data usage peak in the graph. This will disable the data usage warning icon seen in the notification area.

Setting the orange data usage limit bar anywhere in the shaded blue data usage area will re-trigger the data usage warning icon.

For example: If you see the data usage warning icon at the 1 GB mark and only want to use another 200 MB, set the orange data usage limit bar to read 1.2 GB's.

Also, by swiping from the bottom upward on the data usage screen, you'll see a list of apps and or services that have accessed data over the time period shown in the data usage graph and how much data each app used.
